War victims have scoffed at the unethical celebration of death from sections of the Zimbabwean community following the death of high ranking government and Zanu Pf officials.
Zimbabwe is currently mourning the late national heroes, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Lieutenant General Dr Sibusiso Busi Moyo (Retired),Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Joel Biggie Matiza and former Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services Commissioner General Major-General (Retired) Paradzai Zimondi.
The trio who have since been declared national heroes succumbed to the respiratory disease, Covid 19.
In a condolence statement, the Zimbabwe Liberation War Victims Association (ZLWVA) spokesperson Mr Collins Kasiya said there is need for the country to unite together and fight Covid 19 without being apolitical.
” We as war victims join the nation in mourning the gallants sons of the soil who were sharing the vision of the Second Republic with HE Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa.
” The late ministers have been playing a pivotal role towards achieving economic transformation, international reengagement and their efforts can be seen in the current status of the country which has been yielding fruitful results towards steering the fortunes of the country.
” As victims of war, we also note with concern the cheerful celebratory mood among some sections of the Zimbabwean society who are happy with the death of these ministers, its unethical, unhuman and diabolic for one to cheer the death of fellow comrades.
” Lets all unite to fight Covid 19,” said Kasiya
