An upcoming Zimdancehall artiste who hails from Kambuzuma where revered musician,Winky D  started his music career from ,is eager to emulate the star.

Winky D who recenty grabbed Best Dance Hall award  at the 2020 African Entertainment Awards, USA (AEAUSA) was born Wallace Chirumiko in the high-density suburb of Kambuzuma and has inspired many including  Nigel Magwagwa who is a 17-year-old student at Kambuzuma High which coincidentally is the same school that was attended by the ‘Gaffa President’.

“When I look at the success Gaffa has made it gives me the edge to keep on working hard and the fact that he started from here in Kambuzuma emboldes me.

“I am learning at Kambuzuma high the same school that birthed Winky D so this really pushes me,”said the ambitious Magwagwa who is popularly known as Alkamix.

The teen musician said his wish is to be under the tutelage of Winky D.

“We now rarely interact with Winky D since he has since moved from the ghetto but my wish is to have him as my mentor,” quips the young musician.

The young chanter has been producing singles and recently produced a video which accompanies ‘Revenge Yenhamo’.

“I have been doing singles for quite some time and we have produced a video for a song ‘Revenge Yenhamo’ which is a chronicle of how one can face off obstacles and better himself,” added Alkamix.

Currently he is under Elite Records but had a stint at  Seh Calaz owned ‘Yala Nation’ stable and his dream is to take music as a profession.

“I have the privilege of having parents who are supportive of my career such that I have made it clear that I will be taking music as a profession in the near future,” he believes.

Only time will tell whether another gem will be produced in Kambuzuma.
